So while in the US a few years ago, I discovered Dramamine:
771156

This really works amazingly for me ... unfortunately you can't get it in South Africa. Avomine used to be in South Africa, but you can't get that either these days.

So my question: any frequent US travellers have a stash of Dramamine they'd be prepared to part with? I'm in Gauteng :)

have you tried stugeron?
Yup. Every time I take it I swear blind I'll never take it again, because it does absolutely nothing for me. And then after a few years I think "surely it can't be that bad" and I try it again, and hate myself :D

May as well be placebos for all the good it does.

You should be able to get it here... Either as gravol or vomex. They have the same active ingredients as dramamine

I've never seen either of those brands. Whenever I've asked at a chemist they just offer Stugeron. Have you used either of those brands, or did you just research the active ingredient?

Did a bit of digging beyond the active ingredient... And saw reference to both those brands in sa.... Our pharmacists aren't amazing though....

Thanks dude! If you solved this for me, there's a beer or other poison of your choice in it for you at the next meet :D

Just as an addition after some more digging... The active ingredient of dimenhydrinate is directly referenced in the SA polixy framework for dealing with TB

But I hoe you can find either of those brands, and it solves your issue.

haha, great, two-for-one: prevent motion sickness and ensure I don't get TB :P
