Can you smoke cannabis before work?

At a recent hearing of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, commissioner Nomsa Mbileni ordered the reinstatement of a factory worker who had been fired for reporting for duty under the influence of dagga.

I've heard it helps with focus. I know that grade, ditch, pit latrine diggers need a goodly supply of the stuff to keep them good and focused. The stuff treats people different and maybe even some office workers can benefit from a pull of the good stuff in place of coffee.

If it wasn't allowed the entire construction industry blue-collar staff would be fired. Many years ago I used to go with my uncle to work for extra cash - he ran a thatching company. Everybody and their dog was smoking. Not only on the back of the truck going to work in the morning. During tea break. Lunch break. All the time. You'd find some guy standing with a hammer in his one hand, a zol in the other, 2m above the ground asking for matches.

I know a bunch of hardened smokers who need that morning hit to function. They are perfectly fine to do their jobs after that though.
