Can you trust Wikipedia?

Yup, the M&G article makes it clear that there are flaws, etc, and provided a link for the resposnes as well.
What I just found funny was that Telkom/Lulu, just automatically got onto the back foot in defence mode, whilst the other people made comments about the site, good and bad, and then gave a rating accordingly, like normal you know.

Yes.. like a cornered animal, heart beating and sweat dripping.. oh no, there that feeling comes.. it's a familiar one, one that occurs countless times every week.. it's THAT feeling.. the feeling they don't like but there's nothing they can do about it.. its the feeling.. the feeling of.. not knowing what the **** you're talking about. Go Lulu, another excellent example of PR at its acme of badness. The brick wall that is Telkom. The Ogre. The faceless beast what speaks not. Ah well.. hopefully the SNO will be more friendly than you bunch of tight arses. Not even a score for the article!

Ah, but can you trust newspapers or TV any better?
They all it it wrong sometimes.
 
Telkom refusing to even bother to check it up is just another example of their arrogance. No wonder they do not know what is going on in the world around them and believe that everyone loves ADSL. It makes me so sick I really want to scream... Can they really be so pathetic!

None the less though, I think if you go and check up on any encyclopedia dating back through the beginning of the printing press you will always find "errors" and "inaccuracy". Even with subjects like Physics and Mathematics you will always find people who are experts on the subjects and yet have completely different views on certain aspects.

I do hope though that these "experts" who where asked in the M&G article to check up the things they did, Actually made the corrections to the pages they mentioned as that is the point of Wika is it not.. If the experts just sit back an criticize Wiki will always be wrong until they correct the errors.

Maybe that is why Telkom don’t like the site though, because they cant hide the truth like they do on their own website.

Yes, the MG article neglected to properly say that ANYONE may edit at any time without registering.

Its just a matter of time. Currently better quality than anything on Telkoms website.
 
The coolest thing is, that, instead of whining about how crap something is, you can actually better spend that time improving it.

Have to agree with you about the Telkom site though hehe :) .
 
Sorry, but when I opened the article on mg.co.za it displayed an advert for 1024ADSL - I had no choice but to close the browser to avoid infection.
 
I probably didnt notice because I dont think of myself as "an internet user", rather, just a normal person like anyone else.
 
Well such a big enclyopedia such as Wikipedia is bound to have errors...just like anything else in life.

Also with regards to the ANC entry, it's merely an opinion on who was significant or not. So you can hardly call the entry "incorrect".

If you fear infection from websites, ditch IE and get Firefox.

Telkom is paying M&G for that ad. Payment might even be based on the number of times that the link is visited. Think about it - we can eat into Telkom's profit by repeatedly clicking on their ads! The mind boggles...
 
I hope all the dissatisfied "experts" went back and amended the articles instead of just criticising. That is after all the beauty of the beast.
