I don't check voice-messages, I don't want voice-messages.

My answering message is ' do not leave a voice message, sms if you want to send a message ' - but people still leave voice messages !

Is there a way to turn off the option of leaving a voice-message ?

Yeh, easiest is just to phone them.. I believe it's possible form the menu, but phone works wonders, they can even adjust the amount of time it rings before voice-mail.

But would I still be able to have a message for callers ?

cake eat much?

Dont know if this is still available (or any other sp's), but MTN had voice mail lite - on prepaid basically the caller gets a message that they don’t leave a message and to confirm their number and a sms gets sent to you with the caller phone number

Its not do-able.

If your Voicemail is full the caller gets a message saying they can't leave a Voicemail as its full.

Thanks, then in that case they can't leave a message so can either sms as per my answering message or just go away ;)

Messages are auto deleted after a number of days, aren't they?

Can't you maybe get an app to do this? Turn off voicemail and activate the app to answer after x amount of rings. Obviously it wouldn't help if your phone was off.

Check for call filtering apps/software for your model 'phone - I had an app a while back for a Nokia Navigator with an option to reject all/specified numbers with a message of your choice. It doesn't even ring, you can just interrogate the log if you're interested.
