You can use Gmail without gsuite to send and receive without having Gmail append your emails with "on behalf of...."

It's in settings somewhere. I use it for an ISP email address i have and it works fine. Also always hated the "from [email protected] sent on behalf of [email protected]".

You should also check "Treat as alias" and make it your default.

Just redirect the mail to gmail from the business account, he won't know the difference, only you would.
