Canada - 150Mbps

SA is not behind IF we could just get the spectrum issues sorted. Cue ICASA....

Below a live speedtest I did some time last year on oe of the Vodacom LTE towers. We've only activate a few as we can't deploy them on 2100 across the country.

Best I've seen is just over 125Mb/s.

And no w!se@ss comments about how quickly you can kill your cap. ;)

Ok no cap comment as its Vodacom, I would just say shall we start paying off now to be able to afford a weeks surfing in 20 years time?

On a serious note:

Isn't the fact that we still on Analog TV also playing a big part on why we not rolling out LTE? because I recall reading about it somewhere

Partly.

We've been trying for years to get ICASA to sort out 2.6GHz but they've also been very late in getting digital TV sorted that will open the 800MHz band which is perfect for LTE.

Either way, all of us (the whole telecoms industry, consumers, everyone) is waiting for ICASA.

Rofl @ comments within link.

Canadians also complain about cap!

So what excuse does Vodacom have for not providing a better 5GB package then? Actually, why are the "normal" bundle prices so ridiculously high?

Wait hold on so Vodacom and MTN do not run ICASA?
