Below a live speedtest I did some time last year on oe of the Vodacom LTE towers. We've only activate a few as we can't deploy them on 2100 across the country.
Best I've seen is just over 125Mb/s.

Isn't the fact that we still on Analog TV also playing a big part on why we not rolling out LTE? because I recall reading about it somewhere

Partly.
We've been trying for years to get ICASA to sort out 2.6GHz but they've also been very late in getting digital TV sorted that will open the 800MHz band which is perfect for LTE.
Either way, all of us (the whole telecoms industry, consumers, everyone) is waiting for ICASA.
Wait hold on so Vodacom and MTN do not run ICASA?![]()
I would imagine MTN and Vodacom, Telkom have a lot of backdoor influence thereNobody runs ICASA - that's half the problem
