Canal+ takes MultiChoice hit

Well if Canal+ were that stupid to buy into the MonoChoice stable, then there's no cure for stupid I'm afraid.
Canal+ has been after them since 2017 after Vivendi got turned down the offer for MultiChoice Africa

True, Canal+ has bought numerous properties over the years and their finances had already yielded results how would MultiChoice be any different.
Africa is what they want
True, MultiChoice is the largest consumer base in the continent if there was any other player with the same scale they would have taken their money elsewhere.

Thing is, on this continent especially there will be room for "scheduled" (linear) TV for ages to come still.
Africa is influenced by low incomes, cultural isolation, lack of first-world social practices, different interests

SA may be the exception, in time. Perhaps why quite a bit of our DStv structure is different from ROA.


Anyway it's not been really scheduled for decades anymore, not for those who don't want that and can afford extra features that do otherwise.
