Cancel car purchase...

I have cancelled a car (bmw 3 series) before without any penalties... Hyundai shouldn't be difficult. Just say you were not in the right frame of mind and just can't afford it. There is nothing they can do... You still never pay for it so a transaction is not concluded...

Other the that ignore them....

Great news guys... Cancelled with no hiccups. Getting quotes from different places:cool:

Good good...

And fight these "admin" costs.. most of them are complete BS....

At most R1800 - R2000 for admin costs, and that should include licensing.

Were they willing to better the deal?

Don't think I'm interested in dealing with them anymore.

Just got this quote from a hyundai branch. Waiting for other hyundai branches to send me a quote

Much as I hate to say it, you can cancel an OTP without any comeback at all.

I agree, however, that R 7000 in "extras" is totally ridiculous, and really burns my tits that dealers try and get away with charges like this.

My "extras" are R 2950, which include, licence and registration, perspex number plates, carpet mats ( fitted) and a full tank of petrol. Anything more is daylight robbery.

What exact model is it? 1.1 Motion Manual?

I refuse to pay any on the road fees, especially on a used car. its already licensed FFS.
Most dealers would drop it by half, found one who agreed to waiver all the fees.
Best time to buy is near month end when they need to generate X amount of sales etc, you can always press a bit harder.

The only figure that matters when buying a car is the bottom-line total and that will include licensing and registration, whether it's explicitly specified or not. Yes, dealers wanting to charge several thousands in admin fees are taking the piss, but so are people expecting everything for nothing. Whether you buy new used, the car has to be (re)licensed in the buyer's name, so no it's not 'already licensed FFS'.

Thanks for underlining that.

Much as I hate dealers overcharging on S&D - registration money HAS to be paid by someone, and customers who "demand" that they be treated as a special case and discard the costs involved irritate the hell out of me as well.

The myth that Dealers are being showered with money and living in the land of milk and honey is just that - a myth.

I personally disagree with the costs being added on afterwards..

The cost advertised on the vehicle should include the registration costs and delivery costs in my opinion...

I love the classic last 1 left lol

Lol he told me the last one was a white one. Then he called me just now to tell me the white one was sold and told me he has a silver one for the same price but it's the last one. Lol

As I've stated before - I will only pay the advertised price, if they want to add on further fees, they can reduce the advertised price by that much, otherwise, no deal.
