I'm on a Smart M+ with 400 Minutes, 400 SMS and 750MB Data @ R479.00.

This post is premature because my contract only ends in 5 month - but I've seen a few people drop to prepaid at the end of their contract and save money.

But I was wondering, as they don't have a voice bundle, does this help if you phone? Flexi? Or better to stay on a contract? The thing I do make use voice and data

The advantage of a contract is that you get a set bundle of voice/sms/data per month and it generally rolls over. With prepaid you generally have short expiration times on bundles like data.

Some companies like Axxess and Afrihost do month to month data bundles, With Afrihost you can get 1 year expiry voice and data bundles. You can't use Axxess with a MTN pre-paid sim.

Telkom offers the same contract deals on month to month so you are not locked into a contract.

All this assumes you have a device or prefer to buy you device outright.
