I'm *****ing fed up with Telkom and the slow speeds. (Telkom speed is about 10 KB/s, but with Afrihost and other Isp's I get 420 to 460 KB/s).

Is it possible to cancel the data part and keep my @telkomsa.net e-mail address?

Don't be so hasty, Telkom is busy working on their network, it will be back to normal soon.
Durban had problems which they fixed.

That bolded part now scares me .. I've have half the speed I usually get on my 4Mbps Telkom ADSL line. I have regularly been conducting speed / ping tests using speedtest.net, and in the past few days my average DL & UL speeds have been much slower than my normal results. I used to get Pings in the region of 13 - 15 ms ... now its around 150+ ms

I can't argue with your stats, I've experienced the same. It doesn't mean that I'll cancel at the first sign of trouble.
If it is continuing then I'll reconsider.

Wise words from Lara. Telkom ISP is in fact really good (probably the best in latency when it comes to gaming overseas). Hang in there, it will be worth your while. A year back I would have not said this, because then they were really cr@p.

I phoned telkom and they said they could not explain why afrihost is flying and telkom is almost dead. I cannot take it anymore.
Goodbye telkom.

The call centre is useless. It's due to IPC capacity issues and should be resolved soon.

To cancel you have to phone 10210.
Make sure you ask to keep your email address and that they understand what you are asking.

You know they charge you a monthly fee for that, do you?
Telkom says you have to write them a letter (on paper).

They took +3 months to fix Durban, I got tired of waiting and moved on....

Also Telkom being so big there is a very big uptake in their Do Bundles which means you are making enough money to upgrade the network when congestion is detected something other ISP's don't always have.

I'm using Telkom softcap and its pretty much the best account for low latency locally and internationally. They are pretty much the best. I'm ditching Vox for them end of next month. I've been with Vox fatpipe since launch and Vox capped account since 2012 but since I got my Telkom softcap account with my do elite bundle its been the go to account all the time.

I'm in KZN so not sure if that is maybe why I'm getting such good results but Telkom is the best in KZN for me by far. :)

Ja, I just don't ever want to phone 10210. If they made it possible to do things online in a client portal, then I'll consider it.

You know they have a very good online feature before back when they bundles all that extra local data with the capped accounts. You sign up online and they instantly activate the account and you get a username and password. You could also place a cancellation online. It was the biggest mistake they made when they took it away...

Should have been fixed by Tuesday night around 20h00.

As far as we know, it was only traffic going to the transparent caches that was affected.
