Cancel Vodacom Contract

Called Vodacom to cancel a Data contract, to verify myself I was asked how many properties I own?
They did not ask me that when I took out the contract
 
Telkom Mobile does a similar thing when you go in for a contact. Do you have an Edgar's account etc.
