Hi, wondering if anyone has experience in dealing with this bullcrap and knows what action to take to get it sorted out.

We canceled our telkom land line (used exclusively for ADSL) and moved house. (This was in November), we have the log of who we spoke to, time, date etc of when we phoned and asked them to cancel the line.

They said it'd probably take 1 month to take effect. We have a R700 deposit down on this line that we'd like to get back.

Today we get an invoice from Telkom for November to the end of this month for R715,96

Do we phone telkom and try to straighten this out or have they boned us out of the deposit? and now I owe them R15,96?

Thanks for any help!

Ja, and they extended you notice month to December, so you will get another account, before they send you your final account ... , you are not alone ... , < sigh >

When you cancel a Telkom product, you must do it in writing and then both fax and email the written request to their accounts department.

It has been a while since I cancelled a Telkom product but I had many problems with cancelled accounts being reactivated after 3 months. Telkom will only cancel a service if they cannot win in court so make sure that everything is up to legal standards for proof.
