Cancellations broken

I've been trying to get through to the cancellations (aka retentions) desk for a while now. Every time I can hear them, but as soon as I start speaking the line goes dead (go figure). Tried this from my MTN number as well as my landline. The 808 helpdesk works fine ...

Does anyone know what information (if any) MTN require for an account to be canceled? My number should be ported to VSP later today, so don't want continued billing from MTN

Thanks Dr Data. Got a phone call this morning and I have given notice for my contract to be cancelled. Let me know where to send the beer ;)

For others interested, you need to give MTN 30 days notice before you port your number (otherwise you'll get double billed like me (once from MTN, once from Voda) :sick:).

Not sure how you're supposed to guess when your number port will be authorised, maybe they expect you to be without a phone for a couple of days :)
