Cancelled! Anyone else cancelled?

Hey guys,

I just faxed the cancellation form in. It's the 6th and it said that the cancellation deadline for it to be cancelled by the end of this month is the 7th of the month. IE, tomorrow.

I just got it in in time to cancel effective the end of September!

Has anyone else cancelled? Apparently the phone you to "approve your cancellation" (which is the most hilarious thing ever... there's nothing to approve, I just stop paying and they stop pretending to deliver a service). Did you receive such a phone call?

Most importantly, has anyone had problems where they continued charging you when they shouldn't have? I'm considering putting a stop order on their payment after the end of September 2006 to make sure they don't just keep taking money.

Haha, they could never get the debit order right, even when i was on contract! I'm just gonna stop paying. They said they're gonna discontinue the "service". They can't take me to court for not paying for something that doesn't exist.

Freakin loosers.
 
I was told we had till the 25th to tell them if we wanted to move to Flexi, otherwise our accout was automatically cancelled for the end of the month.
 
noswal - is it much better than MyWireless? I'm moving to them at the end of this month (already cancelled with Sentech); in terms of reliability and speed, is it much better?
 
And what is the coverage like? Will I actually be able to "move around" with it? Freak, with sentech you had to place that modem on the curtain rail and get a utp point up there. And don't even think about taking the modem to any other city.
 
I didn't have the portability problem with MyWi, whether at home (patch antenna on desk, wrong side of house ), or at work (just modem on desk, same tower as home) or at my parents place (just modem, another tower)
 
Just been informed by Nowire that my month to month will only terminate end of October, due to calendar month notice. It's a knock I'll take with a smile. Hopefully the iBurst signal test today will be the start of better things
 
Luke 777 - the cut off date of cancelling is TODAY, ie, THE SEVENTH of the month. You can still cancel today and have your service end at the end of Sept! They did it for me (except I'm not a NoWire subscriber) yesterday so they should still do it for you if you give notice today. If you'd like the form please send me email through the forum.
 
Well Nowire is just as incompetent as Sentech. If not more.

If I were you I'd just send them a fax saying that you're giving them notice today as per the 7th of September, and that the last day of service is to be 30 September. Include that if you do not hear back from them re the fax, you will assume it is cancelled. Allow them to charge you for September at the end of this month, then put a stop order on their payment.

Precisely what are they going to do? You gave notice in due course, you paid all outstanding amounts etc.

Don't let them intimidate you. It's not your problem that they are only changing their tune now - originally they said this wouldn't affect you, remember? You have a right to cancel.
 
Busy completing cancellation form. Signal test, hardware purchase, account activation all done within 40 min. Took that long 'cause I was trying to find a bank statement :D Big thanks and thumbs up to 8321 for the assistance and successful switch to another provider

Guess I'll have to change my sig now.....
 
The nice thing about Sentech's cancellation form is that they give you half a page to state your reasons for cancellation - gives you space to let off steam :p

NoWire only has 5 lines, but that was sufficient for me :D Think this is what divorce after a bad marriage must feel like...luckily me and Sentech had no children to consider :D

Seriously though, I did very briefly put all the reasons for canceling. Funny how they managed to call me within an hour to confirm the cancel - if only they were that on the ball with their service!
