Hey peeps, was just wondering if i phone tomorrow to cancel my telkom ISP accounts... how long it will take for it to come into affect... have two, and gonna cancel and rather upgrade to 1meg line and use a cheaper ISP :)

But i don't wanna upgrade and still be paying the beast... so was just wondering, cuz i really want 1 meg for the holidays.;) :D

They can cancel with immediate effect. But last time I tried to cancel the ISP service Telkom sommer wanted to cancel the Line rental as well. Luckily I had a lot of patience that day and repeatedly explained that I only want to cancel the ISP. But I don't think that it will be an issue.

You sure cuz then ill cancel and upgrade at the same go nearly....

Depending on who you talk to, you should be fine if you categorically and specifically and repeatedly say that you only want to cancel the ISP, not the line. Since both are deducted from the same account number (your phone number). You'll be fine. A friend om mine cancelled his Telkom ISP a few weeks ago and it all went smooth.

Ok cool... who do you phone to cancel your telkom ISP portion....

Send email to this address for your cancellation [email protected]

I tried to cancel an account some time ago and was transferred from one operator to the next. In the end one of them gave me the email address and the cancellation was confirmed the next day.

Oh ok... thanks alot hey.. :)

But what do i say, i would like to cancel the ISP accounts on the number 793 XXXX...

Give them the username of the account you want cancelled. I think that's how I did it.

I was misinformed by a Telkom operator that it would take 30 days to cancel one of my accounts. I assumed the account would be active until the end of November when I canceled it at the end of October. I ended being billed for November AND having the account deactivated - yay.

Had to log a dispute this morning (which took 25 minutes since the accounts department at Telkom are trained to first suspect callers are criminals - prior to understanding the dispute is due to an error on their side.)
