Hi

Whats the procedure for cancelling a TI account, I hear its a huge pain so anyone who's gotten rid of them just what do you have to do.

Just give them a call on 10210 I think and that should do the trick but if you wanna be safe go into a telkom shop and let them sort it out.

It depends on how you pay for the account. If you pay via a credit card you only can cancel via an email.

When i canceled my account i called them and they told me to send an email... And only after a week i got a response

Can we not lay Telkom responsible.......
Look at that TI tracker

Please bear in mind that this is a usage-based subscription and, as such, is subject to a service threshold. Thresholds are the accumulated total of both your uploaded (sending) and downloaded (receiving) data, which includes the network overheads.

As a TelkomInternet subscriber you have access to our unique threshold management service. This service operates as follows: should you exceed your initial individual service threshold, as above, you will automatically be transferred into our collective threshold option. This will enable you to stay online until such time that the average usage for all our subscribers reaches the collective service threshold.

Should you exceed both your service threshold and that of the collective, you will be placed within restrictive limits, allowing access to e-mail and the four major banking sites.

Should you require full internet access at this point, you will be required to obtain a new username to remain online.

To unsubscribe from this reporting service or to view your online usage graphs, go to http://adsl.telkomsa.net

To report bandwidth abuse, please e-mail [email protected] immediately, attaching your online usage report.

Warm regards

If telkomsa's support was 10% as good as webafrica's I'd stay. When TI recorded that I did 109 local gigs on the 29'th of may making a total of 123 I went to try get support

I made 20 different phonecalls over 2 weeks and nothing got done at all, the promises that I'd get called back and apparently supervisors/managers have meeting every day at the time I called made my blood boil, I emailed abuse and they said that multiple concurrents were coming up and that 'd need to go to a police station and get a subpoena for telkomsa. I got reminded about saix usage tracker by a guy online and checked the concurrents I had, it was all either 1 IP (thus my line) or when I got assigned a different IP and it just kept the other as recorded and my usage was correct.

The only way things got sorted out was that telkom realised themselves and thus their usage tracker is different, if I check "audit trail" on the tracker since graph is unavailable the recordings are correct.

Whenever I have had far more complex problems in the past I have been able to sort it out in 1 email or 1 phonecall with any other ISP I have been with, its just not worth risking it with telkom.

I chose them as 1 of my ISP's because of the ammount of blended traffic you could generally get, but it just isnt worth it.

Bandit, I pay via telephone bill.
