I have just returned from Cavendish, where I cancelled my useless Cell-C Wosh deal.

It was due to expire at the end of April, anyway.

The assistant told me that I did need to explicitly cancel it or it would simply continue to run and I'd be charged at the new, higher, rate for 5GB data per month - I don't even know what that rate is and CERTAINLY DID NOT agree to pay it - ever. I thought these self perpetuating deals were history, since the CPA?

Also, he tells me that even though I cancelled it today, the 27th of March, the service will continue to run until the end of April and I will receive my final bill at the end of May. What? Why? Surely it ends at the end of April, I pay for April's data at the end of April and that's it?

Well at least you received some services. Cell C took the liberty to cancel all of the services that i was getting and yet still charged me for nothing. Their advertisements are also misleading (R 300 x 12 months)!

Ok, so that's when one has a contract...

What happens at the end of the period with the CellC 5GBx12 deals? Does the sim just die?

At the end of my contract, the sim just died. I would assume the same on the pre-paid but without the ongoing charge.
