Hi,

Hoping someone can advise on the best route for this.

I am looking to get Telkom's LTE due to the 20+ faults that get logged every year with this ADSL, and 2 week average resolution times, been without phone or internet now for 2 weeks due to the strikes...anyway.

What would the best option be to cancelling the ADSL line, and probably voice as well.

These seem to be the 2 options.

1. Unbundle the line via afrihost clientzone, i assume this moves the line back to telkom but keeps the data active and once that is done, cancel directly with telkom? Is there any downtime when this happens and how long does it take? Can i expect billing issues as well?

2. Cancel the line via clientzone, not sure what the difference is between option 1, other than perhaps afrihost log the cancellation on your behalf once the line has moved?

I hear lots of stories about billing issues so am thinking option 1 might be the safest, perhaps move the line to telkom, ensure billing is good then cancel with telkom?

Hey lilggg

Sorry to hear about the endless troubles with your DSL line :(
Have you perhaps looked at our Mobile offerings too?

I've also replied to your PM re the email account, to answer your other questions posed here:

Once you un-bundle the line you need to request a cancellation for it to. Here you can opt to either cancel the line completely or move it back to Telkom. If you're moving to a Mobile based product and no longer need the DSL line you can simply opt to cancel it all together. There will be no billing issues here. Downtime will be a few hours if you decide to keep and move the line back to Telkom.

Shout if you have any more questions :)

Thanks afriman, so you are saying if i cancel completely via clientzone this will cancel the line on Telkoms side as well and nothing else required?I was under the impression it has to move back to telkom before it can be cancelled completely.

I have looked at the mobile products but just feel telkom uncapped LTE is far better value, as much as i hate giving them business and i get a much better signal than with MTN. I have however spent R1200 on your prepaid data in the last 2 weeks :)

Correct, there's an option to have the line cancelled during the cancellation process on ClientZone.
And fair shout on the Mobile data, Telkom do have some pretty cool things on the market at the moment :)

Hope to see you back with us soon though!
