Hello guys,

Uhm to the short of it my landlord gave me notice on the 8th and he wants me to move out before the end of the month because he wants to move in.

Because of this short notice, I need to move to a friends house and then find a place to stay so I don't want to have any fibre active while I am not using it.

My provider is CoolIdeas and & Openserve.

I spoke to CoolIdeas on the 8th and they say that its not possible to cancel the at months end and that I need to pay for the month of March as well. the reason for this is because Openserve is very strict about this and they don't allow any pre-cancellations to happen.

Do anyone know how I can get hold of Openerve or do something about this I really don't want to pay for another month of the internet that I am not going to use. And no I can't ask my Landlord to pay it because he won't.

Kind Regards

What contract do you have where your landlord can just kick you out with 1 months notice?

I really don't care about the agreement or the eviction I just want to cancel everything and move away and forget that this ever happened

Uhm... Weird how Afrihost allows you to cancel on or before the 15th and it will cancel at the end of that month.

Landlord not in a position to take over the account?
Nope. I don't want to deal with that. I just want to go my separate way and forget about this and I think he has his own fibre

Yea it's very weird.... I don't know why CoolIdeas has an issue with this

Just wondering, what are the chances of it being illegal to destroy the fibre cable if you paid for installation. Maybe downgrade the package to the slowest speed.

Going to be difficult to get this right I reckon, generally they are very inflexible when it comes cancellations. Take it as school fees and pay the extra months subscription. To ensure that (ex-friend) landlord cannot make use of the fibre you paid for I'd make sure the ONT (little white box) got damaged somehow while moving. ;)

I did ask cool ideas about that and they said that the request will only be processed within 30 days so basically its not going to help

Cool ideas support and service is amazing and I have no problems with it just this particular predicament is a bit of a pain in the @$$

You will be liable for the damage to the ONT
