Cancelling prepaid data bundle subscription

I experimented with the USSD codes and activated a 10MB data bundle on my pre-paid SIM. This 10MB bundle works fine for occasional use, but now that I want to cancel and load a larger once-off bundle, the USSD code does not work (*141*6*0#) and the 555 service does not work either - on confirmation it says failed, retry later. I have retried, countless times. Calling the helpdesk did not help either: they said they could not de-activate the subscription for me! Any suggestion?
