Are there any forumites here that make Jams or preserve their own food or veggies..?
I am looking for a place/places that sell pectin and citric acid.
I make one batch of Marmelade a year - for Pectin, I roll my own. Just cook the pips and dividers of the citrus - (I use Kuquats so there is plenty to go around). Some of the older pharmacies used to stock pectin & citric acid - last time I bought citric acid at my local grocery store
We are bottling our own tomato and onion relish. Whenever we find boxes of decent tomatoes at a good price, we buy a 5kg box...Mickey- are you making a sweet tomato jam or more of a dip?
Still don't know about the citric acid but Linda's bake (and something) sells it for R43/100g or a bit less per KG.Are there any forumites here that make Jams or preserve their own food or veggies..?
