Cannot access certain websites via iBurst

Tiger wheel and tyre loads, somethingawful loads, except for their purchases system. Forums.somethingawful.com did not load earlier but is kinda working half the time now.

JTech, try your site again:

www.hanami.co.za

As now it's loading for me as it did yesterday, I guess the iburst "wizards" were playing around with the network earlier.

I have tried it now.. still dead
Exactly almost a week later, still cannot access my site.
This after I downloaded 200 megs from my own site... they've blocked it because they saw me downloading from a folder I created- I am sure it's that.

The jackasses e-mailed me and I DEMANDED to speak to someone at a higher level because they tried to tell me it's my MTU, the same stock copy and paste bullsh1t e-mail they send everyone. I am still waiting....

Just tried it a few seconds ago and it's working my side.

Either a JHB problem or they're trying to tell you something.

I've now sent this to them...

Hello,

I am currently blocked from accessing my own website www.hanami.co.za.

I suspect you have done this because I downloaded some files from it totalling 240 megabytes. Some hours after I downloaded my files I cannot access my site, and neither can various other iBurst users.

It is NOT my MTU or any other computer related problem as proved by testing with other subscribers. My site loads fine on Telkom ADSL and other forms of internet access.

I demand that access to my site hanami.co.za be restored to me within 48 hours. I have spoken to the hosting company and they say the problem is YOU blocking all port 80 packets into my hosted server overseas.

If you fail to release this restriction, I shall be taking legal counsel and cancelling my iBurst account. This is the last time I am e-mailing you about this matter.

Best Regards,

JTech - will you be going through the small claims court? I'm considering doing the same... I can't access certain sites that I need to (student.uj.ac.za sortof works some of the time, but if I access it under student.rau.ac.za it works fine every time) and they don't seem to care to fix it.

Donovan,

my wife and I spoke on the weekend. Getting ADSL. We've had enough of iBurst. I will pull remaining strings I have at Telskam and get rid of iBurst, it's a piece of kuk

saponet.co.za - no go on adsl or isdn.

@ JTech - your site loads on adsl tho.

Do let us know what iburst's response to your email was...

Judging by the majority of your posts. What's taken you so long to make this decision?

saponet.co.za is always slow and iffy on iBurst.. my wife uses that site a lot
Anyhow, it's not loading on Martis DXX 128k or Telkom ADSL

What's taken you so long to make this decision
I stay in a complex and I am renting... I only now own a home.

Anyhow, I suspect that iBurst are getting clever with me. Thanks for the help with testing but I think they've blocked access to my box because they saw me download :gasp: :horror:  some software I got from a friend who uploaded it for me to the box. He is also barred from accessing it.

The final word...

Traced the problem to the proxy that iBurst use... The kind staff at Texo assisted me with this and told me quite frankly iBurst couldn't be bothered to fix it.

I've gone back to the devil... applied for ADSL it took me ****ing 2 hours at Telkom Customer Services in Randburg.

My UTD is up for grabs... R1000 and you can have the antenna for free too.
