Cannot access my US based site from SA, but CH network can access it

I run a webcam website called http://midafricam.co.za when I try to access it from
my Afrihost or Uncapped IS account it says operation timed out
but a friend of mine in Switserland can access it from his network.

Anyone else experiencing problems browsing international sites ?
IS Transparent Proxies giving hassles

IS whats up with your proxy ? Can ping some site in CH & US but cannot connect ?
ie http://moneymuseum.com http://grwug.za.net AGGGH

Business Class DSL runs though the proxy not the other DSL accounts like ADSL

Switched to a Telkom SAIX account and I can access the above accounts

IS - your service suck the last 2 weeks

A friend of mine on IS 1 Mb Fiber is experiencing the same hassles as me not being able to access
various international sites due to the Proxy and this is the IS response - Dumb idiots

I spoke to the guys at IS and they sent me this email to foward on to you.

Please test with our connection but a different browser if you have . this is a bit difficult to troubleshoot as you can ping site and can access site using ip address. It means dns server cannot resolve hostname and the dns you have specified are correct.

Connecting via remote proxy and now I can browse those sites = takes IS a week plus to sort this problem out
Are you using he right browser, have you bypassed your firewall and we told you what the problem was
right int he beginning ? I suppose these calls go thru their scripts and then escalate it eventually if the simple questions
have not answered there questions

IS acknowledged today that their is a problem with the proxy and they are trying to resolve
Same device works with SAIX account whether firewall is on or off but not with IS accounts
Proxy error - Operation timed out

Still the http://grwug.za.net still not accessible IS fix your proxy

IS says that they sent the problem to the IS infrustructure department and have fixed it and now apparantley the site works.

Do you maybe want to check it out and let us know.
