I live in Sandton and haven't been able to connect to iburst wireless since 1 January 2010. It shows that "username or password is incorrect". Is any one having the same problem as me? I've tried to contact its helpdesk and of course no one answered to my call.

I've had interrupted service since the new year. Trying to call them or contact iBurst via their site has become pointless. Best would be to ask Gcebile

Thanks for the kind reply. I'm a rookie at the forum, so please kindly advise who Gcebile is. Thanks again!

Gehhh...
As a non-RSA resident, it is quite challenging to tell the gender only by names, though I've been here for 4.5 years . Still, million thanks.

scum132,
Please PM your contact and account details to me.

I had the same problem when I signed up with Iburst last year in March. For days I could nog log on and eventually I checked my credentials as provided by RSAWEB and they turned out to be incorrect. My password was spelt incorrectly and the username contained caps where it shouldn't, etc. Even the mail servers given were incorrect. Since then all my problems with Iburst started, as each HelpDesk Consultant gave me different settings. So much so that my e-mail via Outlook Express still doesn't work.

I have given up on contacting HelpDesk, but found a far better solution. I contacted Dial-a-Nerd directly and within a few hours I got a response back. Great compliments to them!

Yats
I thought I was the only one having that frustration, as my connection drops every 5 minutes. Sometimes it comes back on after a few re-dials, while sometimes I battle for up to 15 minutes. Can't tell you how frustrating that is not being able to read or compose an e-mail without the connection being dropped.

Ronald, maybe you can advise whether this is a general Iburst problem at the moment or one maybe only experienced with the Wireless2 connection.

JeanetteR,
The problems you describe are not at all common. There have been guys who have boasted about their connection staying up for more than 2 months. If you PM me your contacts details I'll arrange for one of the advanced support team to visit you and check the signal and configuration.

Hi Ronald

I am having the same problem details has been PMed as well. Thanks

Thanks very much Ronald. If the problem still persists after the Dial-a-Nerd guy was here, I will PM you. But for now - your assistance is of great help!

This reply originally came from Ronald, as the Iburst rep. Why have all the responses from Ronald all of a sudden changed to gcebile.rakharebe as Iburst rep? On Monday when I clicked on the Iburst profile, Ronald's name was still there. Why don't they have separate profiles, or have they been one and the same person all the time?

Gcebile used to be the www.hellopeter.com rep/copy&paster

Bottom line - do not expect any thing sudden to happen
