Cannot connect to sites. Afrihost

Cannot connect to sites via Afrihost. Is anyone else getting this ?

Since the move (yes that move) and me moving my telkom line to AfriHost I'm getting time-outs on some sites.

The last solution I had was too switch off my modem for about 30mins. When I reconnect and I can access those same sites just fine. Sites like http://html5doctor.com for instance.. Fine one day and the next I cannot access them at all. Fairly annoying.

When I do, i get a "sending request" in the status bar, while it normally continues onto "waiting for [domain]".


I was wondering if this is a shaping issue, though I'm on a capped account ?

Have you tried calling their support to ensure that the problem is with Afrihost and not with Telkom?

That should be your first port of call...

I reset first, then ran a line test, then a fix, then I contacted Afrihost. They are handling my adsl line too.

Try it...if it works fine, then it's Afrihost and you can tell them the Web Africa Trial worked fine. If it doesn't work properly then it has something to do with Telkom's side...
