Hi

Guild Wars keep on giving me the "error 58 - cannot connect to any server"message.
It worked perfectly this morning, but now this message.

Any ideas?

Thanks

That suddenly happened with one of my mates too all of a sudden the other day and it still isn't working :S

I had the same problem about a year ago, and it had something to do with the router. My ISP walked me through the process and it was resolved.

I'm trying some advice I've read in a previous post.

1)rename GW.dat file to GW.old
2)Run GW.exe
3)this way you create a new GW.dat file.

Hope it works.

Worked - I just copied the GW.dat file from Cd and all is well & working again

hi there...i dont fully understand what you mean rename it..and make a new one..cuz then i have 5000 files to download..i dont have the luxury of having a cd ;)

my problem is..i can get into the game..but when im at the screen where i type my login details..its just hangs and the "connecting" message comes up ..and thats it!..one week it works fine..next week it doesnt work at all..i dont know why..because if i have to download updates..from the small load screen before the login screen it works fine...

so ye i cant get past the connecting screen ! any ideas how to fix this ?

Right-click on the Gw.dat file in the directory you installed it and rename it to Gw.old. When you start Guild Wars it should automatically create the file. You may have to download some but that's why you should always keep a backup ;)
