My daughter wants to take up photography and I've been advised by a camera guy to get the Canon 4000D. I know sweet nothing about cameras. Any opinions on this? He said it would cost around R5 000. that's around the price I want to spend.
Thanks

Only thing is lack of mic input, she doesn't plan to dable on video then it's perfect for your/her needs

I'm sure she'll want to take some videos? can this be an addon?

Maybe have a look at the 2000D instead?

Seconded. The 4000D is Canon's attempt at scraping the bottom of the parts barrel to clear out old stock. Initially it will be more than fine for your daughter as she learns, but if she picks up the bug she is going to outgrow that camera very quickly.

But the 4000D has 2000 extra D's.

Thanks for that. The price seems in a similar range for the 2000D strangely.
