Hi

I recently installed Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca) and still finding my way round.
The only problem with my hardware so far is that the Scanner on my Canon Printer
mg4240 is not recognized and the package 'Image Garden is not installed.
I have tried several options and downloaded scangear from the Canon website but it
says it is already installed.
Can anyone help .

Thanks and regards

Snowy

Is Image Garden required to initiate a scan from the printer itself?
If you open Simple Scan does it not recognise the scanner?

Hi The_Analyst
I don't think Image Garden is required to initiate a scan I just mentioned that as one of the issues.
I have tried Simple Scan and it does not recognize the scanner.
I even tried to load the application from the disc but it only gets so far and stops (not surprised as it is for Windows).

Regards
