If the best camera is the one I have on me, and I happen to have three cameras on me at the time, which is the best camera for me?
I've only got the iPhone 3g and while it's clearly one of the best smartphones available at the time, the camera leaves something to be desired. I'm sure he used the 3gS?I think the point of that book is that the best camera is the one Chase Jarvis has with him, not the one I have with me![]()

I've usually got one of my 400D's with me - the best camera being the dSLR you have with you.![]()
best cam for sports (D3 too)
there is no such thing as a best cam
a 4x5 view camera is the best cam for architecture & landscape you can use any of the smaller formats as well
MF (digital and transparencies) cams & D3x/5dII/1DsMKIII are best for portrait, studio... but I've seen Top Billing model shoot done on Canon 40D, so there!!!
1DmkIII/D3 are best for sports no reason you can't use a 7D/50D/D300s
5DII/D700 are best for events (of course you can use the above mentioned ones, or cheaper ones)
for walk-around lens, what beats a 18-200VR? - hook that up to a small crop cam and you have everything you need for a photo trip / vacation
maybe a 35mm cam with B&W film is best for certain types of photography - who knows?
whatever works for the job

You cant be the first person to have said that . . .Crap, I bought a D90... :/

Sharpness is the least of that lenses problems.Well I'm still going strong on my Canon 350D and anyone can say what they want but it takes AWESOME photos! I was extremely lucky to get an exceptionally good copy of the kit lens with is super sharp in the right aperture range! And I sell quite a bit of pics on Shutterstock and Dreamstime, all done with my kitlens and cheapo Sigma zoom!
In the end its about how you use the tool not you tools stats that are important![]()
