Yup. Good lenses take even a lower-end DSLR a lot further.

Mainly to learn more about photography. A few posts here got me interested.

Will probably start off with family shoots, school sports and probably some nature photographs to start off with.

I was a bit scared for the 2nd hand market. Never know what you will get... Got this one brand new for R3500.

Nope, just the body.

Will have to look at some lenses, but don't want to spend too much if this is a bad camera.

You can always upgrade the body and keep the lenses as you progress (with some exceptions)
