Is it worth attending? What happens at one of these events?

There are normally a couple of talks by professionals and Canon PR talk about how great their products are. Then some lenses and printers are handed out to a few lucky people. Last year I scored a printer.

It would be nice for Canon to share the love with PE for a change.

I could understand a roadshow after a major announcement but there's been nothing since the 60D/600D. I don't think the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II counts as breaking news.

Maybe we don't have internet access in this country and therefore don't know anything.......................

Yes and I fixed my mistake so it's not cryptic or ambiguous or even slightly vague any more.

Maybe my brain hasn't woken properly yet but I really don't know which lens the "niftyfifty2fifty II" refers to. :o

EDIT - let me explain - the nifty fifty - aka plastic fantastic - refers exclusively to the Canon 50mm f/1.8 and the last update to that lens, the ver II, was in 1991. Now there have been rumours of a new 1.4 model but they're only rumours.
