Canon Multifunction Service Cape Town

Hi

Any ideas where I can take a Canon multifunction inkjet for a service in the Western Cape southern suburbs?

It refuses to print any magenta or cynan, even with 2 new sets of tanks... cleaning, priming etc. does nothing to help... need to have it looked at.
Its a Canon Pixma MG5340, just over a year and a bit old.

Why not take it straight to Canon ?

Thanks... I did not know where they were. I looked online and found only a Canon Sandton centre, tried phoning them there, gave up after 15 minutes.

How old is the printer?


Ask for prices on printhead repair or replacement. That is very often the culprit.

And depending on the PH price for your printer.... It COULD be cheaper to buy another printer...

ask about the price of a major service in addition to that.

Thanks for that. I suspect it will be cheaper to purchase another printer... but hoping it is something minor.
R900 already spent on new ink tanks / cartridges, will be a pity to have to bin these with this printer.

This unit is about a year and a couple of months old.

Hmmm... they do not service items unless one has a service contract with them... but they have referred me to Partserve in Montague Gardens.

Hopefully they can do a service.

sadly their printhead system is flawed, with the right stuff you can clean the print head but after cleaning you will probably use most of the new ink.

And then if the rubber seals/washers are worn out it would be wasted time and effort.

Labour alone is about R450/hour. They have a min of R200+vat upfront that is non-refundable (though often with printers there are costs to cover consumables used)
