Canon Pixma IP 3600 errors

You can find the edible ink online, I brought in a litre of each colour a few years back for my mother (Will try to find the name of company). Then just bought generic empty cartridges and fill them up. You can use almost any printer I think, provided it doesnt bend the page when feeding and hasnt been used with normal ink before.

Yeah was thinking of maybe going that route. Where did you order the ink from (if you could remember)?

If I can find a place that sells the ink in bottles, will be more than happy to but a new printer and just fill the cartridges myself - will also work out cheaper in the long run as we are paying nearly R200 per cartridge when we need to buy new ones.

flushing the printhead and then filling it again will solve that.
good to hear that ink is available online

the IP3600 "rolls" the paper out.

I cant remember the name off hand, but will have a look for the bottles at home, dont think she used the 4 litres of ink up lol. The ink worked out quite a lot cheaper, empty cartridges were pretty cheap as well, but shipping was quite a bit. I brought in some paper as well, which was slightly cheaper but the time to get to SA didnt justify ordering paper only. May work out if your girlfriend uses a lot of it though.

Yeah please if you could find the name that would be great. I will continue looking online as well.

She uses it daily so definitely will work out best in the future.

I'm waiting for the importers to come back regarding the epsons and edible ink.

It is a very new printer, so they are waiting for manufacturer, overseas, to get back to them.

spoke to the supplier/importer earlier.

he is waiting to hear from epson and canon overseas, as one of his co-workers are unsure if it will work with that epson system.

He has promised feedback by tomorrow.

Company is Kopyform based in Germany.

http://www.kopyform.com/edible-ink-and-edible-ink-cartridges/edible-inks.html

They sell filled cartridges as well, Im sure this will work out a lot cheaper in the short and long run.
The paper is the deco paper plus if I remember correctly.(Im assuming you currently getting them from the company out in Muizenberg?) Ask Kopyform to send samples of the sheets when you order, they still posted me a few of each sheet as samples for free. The choco sheets were interesting, but didnt transfer the image that well.

Shipping was quite a substantial percent of the order, but I didnt bring in bulk. I don't think I paid any customs on the items besides VAT.

Cartridges I got from ebay, just make sure you get the ones with the chips that dont need resetting. Then you can keep refilling them.

Perfect thank you for all your trouble.

Thanks for the link, will look into that during the course of the day.

Yeah I get the paper and ink from the company in Muizenberg - if I can find it cheaper will definitely move to them if the quality is good.

Will contact the German company and see what the prices will be and ask for some samples too.

Thanks again.

Didnt have any problem with the quality of their inks. The paper samples got a bit damaged in transit (came via post office) but they still seemed just like the stuff you use currently.

just got back in

need to check emails, make calls etc,
will let you know when I get to the supplier's email.

you need
ammonia (pnp, checkers etc)
1-2 litre distilled water (spares shops)
a bowl that is wide enough to have the head standing in it. Not to wide cos else wasting the cleaning stuff.
depth of the bowl at least half the height of the head.
NOT any form of metal. plastic, glass, porcelain or similar
paper towels
20ml syringe (no needle)
spare cartridges if you don't have much ink in the current ones.

once you are armed and ready I can explain the process.

Cool so I got all the supplies.

Do you have a link with steps to follow or a place I can get the instructions from?

Or even a link maybe?

Have tried searching online but they give me simple instructions as in using the PC software to do the clean etc. Is there somewhere I can get the precise steps to take please?
