Presentation of new gear, guests speakers on different photography subjects, some free merch.
 
I went last year and got: Canon branded,
beanie, rainjacket, pen and writing pad and some tasty finger foods...all complimentary.

Couldn't go lat year - they scheduled it on the same day as IronMan and in one of the least accessible locations on the day.

Morons.
 
I participated in Samsung's #DitchTheDSLR promotion, so my old Canon 30D DSLR is landfill fodder somewhere I'm afraid. Don't think I'd be welcomed with open arms at the Canon workshops with my new Samsung mirrorless wonder, lol, or else I'd have booked.

Everyone is welcome. I go almost every year and don't take my camera, it's mostly presentations... Haven't been to the workshops though.

Rofl, that's the thing. "Workshop host: ok now, so if we can all take out our cameras..." *Me opens camera app on cellphone*

Never seen them ask anyone to take out their cameras. Most times I don't even take mine.

I also attended the Nikon Roadshow last year. No hassles.

Gave me some sort of header error but when i tried again it seemed like it worked.

Yeah, it's been pretty well established that Canon hates us :D We've always been an afterthought and they treat the local retailers like S**T.
