Before the movie I was saying: "Do we really have to go watch a MUSICAL!?!"

Afterwards: "That was flippen awesome!!!"

PS:
* Be open-minded. (they sing ALL the time)
* Watch it at the cinema. (I think the big screen and loudness makes it much more intense)

The book is excellent. The Musical is good but not as good as the book. The movie blows in comparison.

I saw the Broadway production many years ago - it wad stunningly good, but the drama, pathos and sheer humanitas of the storyline is deeply gripping. Anyone who has suffered deeply and survived cannot but fail to be moved by The Wretched.

But, to endorse Space Chief's advice, don't miss the book.

Because it's a film version of a musical written by a Frog called Schönberg.

It's a helluva lot better than the film of the musical version of The Man From Snowy River.

Just seeing Russ the Glad(iator) singing (as Javert) is worth the entrance price

There are plenty of non-musical versions of Les Mis available....

I am not a fan of musicals...cept for Rocky Horror...but that is neither a movie or a musical.....IT IS A EPIC EVENT!

Anyway.....will get this on Bluray and give it a go when it comes out.

I must still watch Mamma Mia....its got ABBA songs right? hehehe
