Brand new D620 laptop, Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility profile set to VodaCom-SA, APN set to internet, click on Connect, says connecting .. authorising but I keep getting Error 133: If you are trying to establish a connection by wireless modem, the profile may not be correctly set.

Vodacom 155 not much help, no record of Error 133 on their side!?? I'm new to this but used GPRS via cellphone before so not a total newbie, can anyone pls help?

Is the sim provisioned for data? I.e. can you connect directly from your phone?

I assumed so as package came with included data bundle but experience tells assumptions is the mother of all f*** so let me try swap sim with phone & get back to you. (Using gprs thru cell to connect so may take a while ..)

If the sim card isn't provisioned for data, you will need to call 155 [Vodacom's Data Helpdesk] to get it provisioned for data [Data Enabled], could also be that the sim card is still waiting for activation on the network - usually an issue for one's service provider to sort out...

Thx I think u nailed it.

Laptop sim is network activated but after swopping sims I could connect with laptop (via GPRS) but cell says 'connection failed' so its obviously not data enabled. I assumed it would be done automatically as laptop came with data bundle but will phone 155 asap to have it done.

Cudos to myadsl for providing a forum for this kind of assistance!
