Cant Connect / DSL not up

hi,

over the past 4 days, my mega 100wr is not pickin up the dsl signal and hence its not connecting to the net. i tried many things ,but in the end i realised i have to RESET it using the button at the back of the router, and consequently re-enter all my details, save, and restart the darn thing, in order for it to connect to the net. and even if i save the settings, i have to do all this again and again if i ever turn the router off. finally , i discovered that when you call the landline number from a cell, the dsl light turns on and it picks up the dsl signal. how odd.
has anyone else been having such issues with their mega100wr's? and if so, how did you solve it? please help.


i'd called telscum and they said i may have to replace the thing...so much for their "FREE modem"

It's probably the fact that Eskom's load-shedding has been in effect at the area where your DSLAM resides for over 5 days hence the backup power has been depleted and you're now left with a modem that's not syncing.
Okay fine i'm not being serious, but somehow it actually does seem possible.

Yeah, had the same problem. Although, I wasn't home for the past 2 weeks, so dunno wot happened in that period .

But decided it was time to rebuild the pc too. Had to redo everything, and now it's working. However, I'm using routesentry by
ant1body, ( flippin awesome progi ) so my situation cud be different.

okay, so theres no other proper solution to this, other than me just resetting everyday? whoa...no wonder ppl say you should never go for free things, especially by telkom

Is the microfilter in place and working?

yes, the filter is working fine. i had problems with it earlier, since one of the 3 extension phones was not using the filter, but now i got the filter fitted and its working fine. i had problems earlier where the dsl wouldnt sync when a phone call came through. now when i fixed the filter, its allright and i dont get disconnected anymore when a call is received on the phone. but this is the new problem...where the router doesnt sync when turned on
