2 days ago I installed updates on my 3g modem (E173). All was fine for about 2 hours and then I lost connection. Since then I've installed / uninstalled MTN Online.exe a number of times, removed all MTN directories from ...\program files, had firewalls on and off ..... but still no joy.

The modem connects to the network ok but my network setting is local only. When I diagnose the network connection I consistently get the message "cannot communicate with DNS server ( 209.212.96.1) - network diagnostics tried to ping the remote host but did not receive a response"

I've even tried installing my old E220 modem with the same result. I would assume it's either a MTN issue or a problem with my network settings.

Any ideas?

OK, so as a last resort I phoned customer care. After a 20 minute wait I found out it was because my data bundle was finished. I've had the contract for 5 years and it's the first time it has happened when I've gone over my bundle, which is most months.
