can't connect to router's admin interface through wifi

hi, have Zyxel 1312-b router and I have a problem to open 192.168.1.1 through wifi using my laptop. it only works when connect the lan cable. Is this normal? is this for security reasons etc? thanks

Could be that the wireless profile is wrong IE wrong encryption, ssid, password.

I've read this in a Netgear modem manual as well. You need to connect a cable.

I can do it with a Linksys.

Its definitely for security, to keep hackers out.
Yes you can do it with a Linksys, but those ones are quite old, and are quite crappy product too and prone to hacking.
