I really hope someone can help me;

I am using BitTorrent original client. Downloads were going ok until today.

Using a machine with Vista on I was downloading at about 30 - 40 KB/s when Neotel actually works.

I connected another machine running XP and same client and set up port forwarding. It worked one night just fine on both computers but the next night suddenly all ports are blocked. Needless to say all down/uploads are at 0.

I have an Axesstel MV400 router from Neotel. You can't disable the firewall on it (just to test). Also thought of installing another router behind it and disabling firewall on the Axessel router but since I can't...

I've tried forwarding to different ports and have reset the router but nothing seems to work. I've forwarded both UDP and TCP. The ip addresses are def correct. The router says they're forwarded and the ports are not the same for each ip address.

I've checked for firewalls on the computers (the second one is not mine). We don't use Windows Firewall and there is definitley nothing running. We even uninstalled Symantec in case.

Using http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=0000 and PFPortCHecker all ports are blocked, no matter what port I try.

This is driving me crazy! Any suggestions?

Simplify your network and get just the one PC going again. IMO two P2P clients will clog up your internet connection.

Umm, there' no traffic cos the ports are blocked. Sometimes only one computer is conected and same problem.

BUT, we just had a computer connected with a 3G card (Vodacom) and guess what? Ports were blocked!

The Windows firewall really is off though so what else can it be

And on 2 seperate computers that are set up differently with different OS that were both working just fine up until one night.

This is weird.

So this started when you plugged the xp machine onto your network, check for virii,
particularly conficker.

Hmm, well actually that machine has always been plugged in but BitTorrent is new on there.

We both had Symantec installed (actually picked up a few on mine) but now it's uninstallled to try and fix this problem (we thought it may have something to do with the ports being blocked).

Now this may be a stupid Q; how do I tell if I am going through a proxy on my ISP? I mean is that possible?

Because the conficker test says that if I am going through a proxy then I will be able to see them all regardless. So would a proxy on the ISP affect which ports I can connect through?

Not that I think I have conficker but just made me think...

Jane I don't think it's your network setup I think neotel is up2 something again, it's been about 2 days now since I've noticed my bit torrent client also not finding any open port anymore. Any other neotel users noticed this yet?

So calling Neotel to check that all your ports are actual open has not work?
