I have a usb stick that I connect to the internet from my laptop Windows 8.
I wish to share this connection via a wifi to a WIFi only iPad
So I have tried two ways.
One is to use the command prompt and the Windows Netsh Utility
when I run I can see
netsh wlan show drivers
hosted network support is available
I use this
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=mywifiname key=mypassword
to create the network
and
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
to start it.
I then go to my mobile stick connection adapter settings and share it to this new wifi connection created by the above command
Then I try to connect to the wifi and I am able to. But I am unable to use the internet or browse. I tried an iPad and Android device. The internet is working from the laptop where the USB stick is plugged in.
I also tried using a program Virtual Router Plus and that does the same. I creates the Wifi and connects to it but internet doesn't work.
Anyone have any ideas or alternate free program I can use?
