Hi Guys,

Either though my exchange is *****ed up I would like to ask something.

When checking my maximum speed with the Telkom ADSL checker I get this:

Maximum speed available in your area is 4Mbps
Your current product speed is : 4Mbps

I am in a VDSL area? I asked them to sync me at 6Mbps and they won't. I use to have it about 1-2 years ago though.

When I type in my neighbours (friends) number, 2 houses away, they get this.

Maximum speed available in your area is 40Mbps
Your current product speed is : 4Mbps

They are syncing at 6Mbps :(?

His:

Your DSL "up to 20 Mbps" or "up to 40 Mbps" order can be placed with your ISP.

Mine:

Your area is currently not enabled for the Super-Fast Broadband.
However, it is possible for you to order broadband services up to 4Mbps right now.
Please register your interest for planning purposes as we endeavour to enable your area for even higher broadband speeds as soon as possible

Unlucky. Ask the neighbour to set up a wifi network for you.

Hi There,
I checked my number and it is ok for 40MB so is my neighbour's address
I would speak to the sales people at Telkom and express your interest in VDSL and see what they say.

Regards

Tim
