Can't install ADSL

Oh no .. I've just been informed that even though the telskum technicians have performed all the tests and everything has passed they can not install ADSL as they don't have ports ???
I have 2 lines going to my house .. can't they use them to set up my ADSL .. I'm NOT in my happy place ...

I've seen a similar post about this here ... but is there really nothing we can do ... is the technology that different from normal phones that they can't take my 2 lines and make one ADSL somehow ...

a DSLAM only has so many ports i am afraid. I do however think that they are talking ***. ADSL is not that big yet in SA and I do doubt that all the ports are taken, but you never know. What Area(suburb) are you in.

The thing is I was stupid enough to go and buy an ADSL modem ... so now i have yet another expensive door stop ...

If things go the way they should your wait should not be long. If all the DSLAM ports are taken that means there is a high demand for the service and they will more than likely install a new DSLAM. hell at the prices we are paying we have probably paid the whole role out expense already so I would not worry too much and would hold on to that modem.

Sorry to ehar BlobNow, They installed mine yesterday, from application to install under 14 days, impressed with telkom.

Picking up my Router this afternoon and then it is play time tonight.
