I'm trying to do a clean XP install on a common Mecer, Intel board, Celeron CPU. The machine repeatedly restarts during install at the 'kernel debugging dll' stage. A bit of Googling suggested hardware trouble.
I've swapped out memory and hard drive to exclude hardware faults but still no luck. I'm not convinced that it's a hardware fault since the same machine was running XP earlier today. I can't even run Mepis or other live Linux CD's as the machine hangs. Maybe a custom BIOS that is messing with it?
