Can't Log in after virus removal?

Seems this is Virus week for me.

After removing virus in XP pro, everytime you log in it logs off straight away. Making it impossible to get in the system in any account even in safe mode. I have had this before and a windows repair worked but this particular clients PC has pirated XP Pro

Any quick fixes?

I read about this in a recent issue of PCFormat, same thing happened to someone, except with Server 2003.

The virus has stuffed up a registry setting to do with userinit, which causes the system to log out right after you log in.

I don't have all the details at the moment unfortunately, but a search should bring up info.

As for fixing it, you are going to need a BootCD, something like UBCD or BartPE, so that you can access the registry to make the needed changes.
