Hi, hope someone can help me

My adsl was activated today and it's working fine except for one thing - I can't login to certain sites where I have to put in a username and password. The main pages come up fine and I can navigate, but when I click the login button, that particular page doesn't load.

I have a Telkom USB pots, isp is Mweb, OS is Windows 98 and I use AVG (no firewall). Mweb haven't been able to help - they say it's the Telkom software (Polyglot). Maybe some of my pc settings aren't right.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Will appreciate any advice on how to fix it.

Thanks
Ann

1) Get rid of MWEB as your ISP, they are over priced, and sell the exact same product as other retailers, just they are double the price

2) Sounds like a SSL problem. Prehaps there is a problem with your browser? Try installing Firefox and see how that goes

3) GET A FIREWALL!!!!! Not all virii need to be run through an email to infect your system, there are tons of network virii that will pwn your PC

4) Win98? Tell me you are waiting for Vista, 98 just does not cut it unless the hardware you are on really can not handle XP.

I will go with MWEB here, looks like a Telkom issue with SSL, though try a mozilla based browser, and see where that gets you.

Guessing now, but didn't older browser versions support only lower level secure sockets ( 64 bit ? ). I'd try the suggestion of loading Firefox. There have also been discussions here about packet sizes - too technical for me, but maybe someone else can remember.

EDIT: PS - Get a firewall!!! Please!
