Can't make calls using Vodacom network ...

A few people in my office are experiencing the same issue. I can receive sms' and data, but I can't receive or make voice calls. I can't even get through to 082 111. I try dial a number and after a short while it says 'connection error'.

Anyone else having this issue?
 
I've had similar problems as well. Two of us use Vodacom in my home and neither was able to make or receive calls.
I would dial a number and then nothing - no error nothing. It would appear to be connecting but there is no ringing sound. After trying for quite a while, we eventually got through and then got disconnected. Another 5/10 minutes of dialling and redialling before getting through.

Anyone tried to call us would immediately go to voicemail.

I was able to connect to my voicemail though. I'm not sure if it's because it was unaffected or it was just one of those intermittent windows that I was lucky enough to connect.

Also found I was able to dial and connect through to a cousin who uses vodacom but unable to dial the other vodacom phone in the house... strange
 
I've been having problems since thursday. We had a power failure for a few hours in sundowner in randburg, since then either I get no signal at all or full signal but no calls can be made or received.

I emailed customercare and the claimed they would look into it.

I'm new to joburg but this is just ridiculous. I get better cell service on my folks farm 20km from the nearest tower.
 
I get very low to no signal for at least half of a day :( Vodacom support told me to switch off my phone and take out the battery then try again. Of course that works but should I do that for every time I need to make a phone call?
