Cant post data greater than 1k.

Hi Guys

Since yesterday, Monday 28 Nov 2005, I have not been able to get my forms working.

We have managed to work out that we cannot by any means send form data greater than 1k, including text and files. It just comes back with a "Cannot find server error..."

We have narrowed it down to our Telkom ADSL 512k 3Gb Capped line. Our ISP is Telkom.

What I did try was to connect to the NukeCap VPN Proxy thing, and then the form sent data through perfectly.

Has Telkom changed something on their proxy/bandwidth shaping facilities?

I have also tried the same form from different computers, browsers and other non-ADSL lines and the forms work wonderfully.

Your help will be most appreciated.

got off the phone with somebody on their side

they suggest using cache.saix.net port 8080 but that's bat**** stupid because IT WORKED FINE BEFORE
i'm not going to hassle with a godamn proxy server address in each of the 11 billion internet-enabled applications that i have installed on my pc

it's also pretty hard to explain to a tech monkey that you know what the problem is, and they just sit there and try to walk you through pre-determined troubleshooting methods.

spoke to SAIX now and the super-techy dude there was baffled by my problem.
he suggested I log an "FQ" for SAIX, with telkom internet.

hooray for lost causes.
 
Well, I find it a little strange that the system, in my area at least, went down for about 30min this morning and when it came back up, I ceased to have this problem.

So, somebody, somewhere along the line knows what the problem was or is.
 
what area are you in? just so that i can quote this to the technician if/when he phones back. :(
 
maybe we are in the same area qrator, since my problem has also magically disappeared.

Not an MTU problem, a Telkom problem. And it has resurfaced at about lunch time today. I have since changed my proxy to cache.saix.net:8080 and all is fine.

I am in the Westville area fyad.
