Cant print from word

Has anyone ever had a similar problem or can anyone help??

i have a pc that cant print to a network printer from word.. I can print test pages and from excel and any other app.. Everyone else on the network can print to it from word.

The printer is a usb HP 2600n connected to a desktop connected to a switch..

The desktop with the problem is running xp sp2, and office 2002 smb..

I have reinstalled word and the printer.. i didnt get much time to look at te problem but have to have it sorted first thing in the morning, could it be firewall or registry setting?

hey try install the printer as a generic printer and then try, does it print even a test page from windows?

yea it prints a test page from windows, and it even prints from excel..

I know Word blocks printing if there is an issue with the product activation. Excel should also be blocked then, but it might be an area that one could investigate.

Disable all firewalls and run word with elevated privileges for good measure. (Right click on icon Run as...)

in word when you push print it should ask you which printer in the print dialog box. Its a drop down on the top of the dialog box. Word sometimes defaults this to something called the office printer.

Make sure this is set to your main printer. Also in wndows set your printer to be the default printer for all applications.
