Can't send sms [Cell C]

I'm a Cell C subscriber and can't send a sms.

The message center number is fine, I can receive a sms and make calls as well.

Any idea if it is a network issue?
 
It is your tower. I test sms services on a daily basis and at our old office the CC tower was a Vodcom one - had lots 'n lots of problems.

Try to send a please call me - this is USSD not SMS. If this fails, then CellC has messed your access.

if your contract is about to end they do this so you can buy a new fone..try using a vodacom card in your fone...then use sms...
 
If u r on controlchat or prepaid, check your access window.
 
Seems internet is really slowed as the above posts must surly be delayed. Now did any of you actually read what he said. He can still make calls, so no problem with "contracts" expiring or access windows.

Also, whats the crap about "buying a new fone" preventing you from sending SMS. Have yet to see that problem at work, also never had that problem when I was on CellC and I use to upgrade late, also never had that problem with my two other CellC contracts which also get upgraded on the last month of the contract.
 
The only time i saw above problems happen was when i loaded another sim card into my phone and settings and sms was sent stating you have inserted the card into another phone etc, i would not save any new settings but i would not be able to send an sms.

My solution was to use the following Messge Centre Number: +27841000000 I know you said your MC number is fine but just double check if it corresponds to the number i have provided.

Hi,

Yes I did read what springbokkie said! I have experienced the exact problem on Control Chat when they chanhged the expiry window. I could still make calls - just couldn't send smses.
